Abstract
Objective To determine the point prevalence of Covid-19 in pediatric residents at our center before-and-after
vaccination, and to analyze the contributing factors and interventions undertaken to control the positivity
rate. Methods A cross-sectional study carried out on August 2021 using a designed questionnaire that was
distributed using Google®form. Results Fifty seven out of 123 (46.7%) residents tested positive during the
period March 2020 to August 2021, 31 during pre-vaccination and 26 post-vaccination. The median monthly
point prevalence was 5.5%, with peaks in March 2020 (14.6%) and September 2020 (13%), in parallel with the
peak of national positivity rate. The point prevalence had a decreasing trend post-vaccination, also contributed
by our transmission control and prevention procedures, e.g. clustering system, strict personal protective
equipment (PPE) reinforcement, and active contact tracing routine. However, an increased prevalence (13%)
post-vaccination occurred during the period when the delta-variant Covid-19 dominated, with 12 residents
(21%) reinfected. The point prevalence had been decreasing with the lowest reaching 0%. Out of 57 residents,
45 had mild disease (78.9%), 11 (19.3%) were moderate and 1 (1.8%) was critical Covid-19. Most went
through self-isolation treatment (75.4%), and tested negative within 1-2 weeks (42.1%). Conclusion The
median monthly point prevalence of Covid-19 among pediatric residents in our center has been maintained
<6%, peaked in parallel with the national peak prevalence and delta-variant in the last peak. Infection control
was contained by vaccinations and our strict attempts in the transmission control and prevention.

Abstract
Background Covid-19 pandemic gives impact on all aspects of global regulation, including on educational
field. All the regulation changes bring academic achievement alteration, particularly pediatric education
program. This mini research aims to compare residents from pediatric education program achievements prior
and after the Covid-19 pandemic. Methods This research was using a time-series experimental design. Our
subjects were 64 residents from pediatric education program from 2nd to 9th semester Faculty of Medicine
Universitas Padjadjaran. All scores from 3 division before and 3 division after the Covid-19 pandemic were
gathered from the same subjects in period of time from December 2019 to April 2020. All scores were
based on cognitive knowledge, clinical skills, medical records fulfilment obedience, skills lab, night shift
evaluation, and total score. There was difference of learning methods before and after the pandemic and
we had run a T-test analysis to compare the scores. Results Our subjects consist of 44 (68.8%) women and
20 (31.2%) men with average of age was 31 (SD 2.5) years. There was decrease score tendency during the
pandemic, compare to students scores prior the Covid-19 pandemic, even it was not statistically significant
(76.3930±6.01 vs. 76.0406±5.97, P>0.05). Conclussion There was decrease score tendency during the
pandemic, compare to scores prior the Covid-19 pandemic.
