                                               Abstract
Background The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been declared as a pandemic, given its global
spread. At first, children account is less likely to become severely ill compared to adults. However, the third
wave of COVID-19 in Indonesia showed a more severe outcome to children. The WHO Clinical Progression
Scale (WHO CPS) measures 3 elements such as a measure of viral burden, a measure of patient survival
and a measure of patient progression through the health-care system. Objective To measure outcome of
COVID-19 in children with chronic kidney disease (CKD) with WHO CPS. Methods We collected all 24
cases inpatient children with CKD in June 2021. Seven patient was suspected with COVID-19 infection
due to clinical symptoms, while only 5 to be confirmed with COVID-19 infection in SARS-CoV-2 RNA
examination. All confirmed cases were scored using WHO Progression Scale daily. Results Four confirmed
COVID patients were diagnosed with moderate symptoms and one with severe symptoms. The median age
for confirmed COVID-19 cases was 14.2-year-old. Three patients were scored 4, one patient was scored 5
and one patient was scored 6 on first day of admission using WHO CPS. All the cases were treated using
standard therapy. WHO CPS showed four cases had an improvement value progress less than 7 days with
average score down to 2. Only one cases showed a deterioration of WPS CPS value to 8 on twelfth day of
admission. Conclusion The WHO CPS was able to score progress of COVID-19 in children with CKD.

                                               Abstract
Background Acute post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis (APSGN) is one of the common causes of
glomerular disease in developing countries, including Indonesia, and contributes as one of the main causes
of end-stage renal failure, and in some cases can even cause death. Objective To identify the prognostic
factors affecting the outcome of patients with APSGN in children by determining the age factor, nutritional
status, blood pressure, haemoglobin level, albumin level, ureum and creatinine, proteinuria and haematuria
level. Methods This study is an analytical retrospective cross-sectional study using medical record data
of APSGN patients in Child Health Department Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Hospital Manado, taken between
January 2019 – June 2021. Seventy six patients aged 0-18 years whom met the inclusion criteria were
included in this study. Data analysis were done with logistic regression test using SPSS version 22 software.
Results Forty-one patients (53.94%) were male and 35 (46.06%) were female patients. The research result
revealed that 61 (80.26%) of the total of 76 medical records of the patients were able to recover within ten
days, while the rest 15 (19.74%) remained sick or died. The age range was between 4.53-11.43 years and the
mean age was 7.98 years. The result of the multivariate analysis revealed that the nutritional status, albumin
level, proteinuria level and haematuria level are significant prognostic factors (P < 0.05) affecting the outcome
of patients with APSGN in children with CI 95%. Conclusion Nutritional status, albumin level, proteinuria
and hematuria level are significant prognostic factors affecting the outcome of patients with APSGN.
